Dear Ethel, it is so good to see you are on connected-women, knowing how difficult it is to access information and technology in Cameroon.I will love to give you some head start on how to start, grow and sustain your business in Cameroon. My organization, the World Women Trade Fair assists women entrepreneurs in developing countries in the creative and handicrafts industry to start profitable enterprises and to access global market opportunities to sell their products. We do so by providing skills training for them to be able to produce products that meet international standards and which also reflect their cultural heritage. We organize Trade Missions, Trade Fairs, and also hosts joint umbrella pavilion at key major international trade fairs and conferences where women artisan entrepreneurs are able to test market and sell their wares. You can visit my website-www.worldwomentradefair.com and www.internationaltionalhandcraftedgiftsandhometextileexpo.net. We have organized a Trade Mission for women entrepreneurs from various countries in Asia, Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, Central and S.America to Italy and they will be attenting the International Trade Fair-2009 73rd FIERA DEL LEVANTE Bari-Italy from September 12th-September 20th .
You mentioned that you are in food processing and textile--? Resources in Cameroon to get you off the ground- The US Embassy, British, Embassy ,Canadian Embassy, do have small grants(these are money) that you do not have to pay back to work on a business project. The USA embassy in Yaounde does have an embassy shop & gallery where they source products from local producers and sell to embassy staff and US visitors to Cameroon. To access global markets..there is a big market of Cameroonians in the diaspora where you can sell your ethinc food to them. You can start by developing a relationship with a lady in Limbe S.West Province( I can't remember the name of her business) her name is Geradine and she has built a big food export business into UK and selected European countries. My business associate is presently in Douala Cameroon, and I can put you in touch with her, and she can be of help to you.She is researching resources that are presently available in Cameroon for small women entrepreneurs and how these resources can be improved up. Do you have pictures of your products? if you do, you can send to me by e-mail attachments, this will give me a better idea on how to further assist you. We are having a two women groups in Cameroon joining us in Italy. Keep up the good work, stay focused, develop a business plan? where you are now, where you are going, what you need to get to your goals. Cheers Margaret

Hi Ethel,

Have faith in the situation of your visas. You are meant to be there as I am sure you are even better in person.

Thank you for visiting the sites. I would really like to spread 1We - One World Experience and The Chain a lot further into Cameroon as it has been a country on my list for a long time.

As much as I really would like to be there, unfortunately I will not be attending the conference in Brussels. I really would like to meet you in person too and I am sure we will at another time and place.

Keep up your energy. It is SO INSPIRING !

Kind regards,
Fazila
