Martha Mayhood Mertz GOLD

Martha had incredible vision when she started the ATHENA program. A local community program has grown into an international program that encourages women to find the leadership within themselves. To me that's key because most people understand the program as the award program that honors women leaders. That is important, but I really like exploring the ATHENA leadership tenets within myself. Martha has started a community on C-W that does that and I hope others get involved in this discussion.

But back to Martha. She also lives these tenets daily--you can just tell. She is a wonderful colleague and friend since we met in Sedona, Arizona, where we both live. I feel so fortunate that she moved here and I get to see her and share life with her on a regular basis!

Martha, thank you for teaming up with me in Bermuda letting me step into your material adding a piece, as a workshop. The work you do in encouraging women is an important one. Encouragement is always sweet and powerful. I would love to see us work together in the future. Athena has great purpose wich you embodies. I thank you.

I had the pleasure to be introduced to Martha in the beautiful city of Sedona Arizona this summer.

Martha is quite an exceptional woman who has acted on her passion to build up role-model of women in leadership. It was a true pleasure for me to attend her Athena Cafe during Bermuda Conference last September, and be part of the group who took part in the first Athena Award in Bermuda.

I look forward seeing more from Martha and Athena International Leadership program on Connected-Women.com in the near future.
